Biography

I have accepted the AssistantProgram Directorposition with SCHS because I have experience and interest in teaching. As a clinical instructor and classroom pharmacology teacher, I enjoy sharing my experience and watching students mature into professional anesthetists. My role with SCHS focuses on the development of the anesthesia courses and supporting Ed Mohr in assuring quality clinical training. With over twenty years as an anesthetist, practicing in large to small settings, administering regional and general anesthesia, I feel confident this program is designed to give our students the best education.

Before attending college at the age of twenty-six, I spent many years in various trades, as a welder, metal finisher, spray painter, fork truck driver, and general contractor and builder. I understand what it means to come back to school later in life with a family in tow. I know the demands of working and attending class and coming home to be a father. Again, I believe that we have developed a program that helps address this reality.

I will continue to work in the anesthesia field to keep my skills current. I believe that SCHS will help many young nurses consider anesthesia education that would otherwise find the pressures of family life, work, and school too disruptive.
