Dawn-Marie Buhain began her professional career with 10 years of critical care nursing, half of which was in Canada, before she moved to the US. She graduated from the nurse anesthesia program at the Medical College of Virginia in 1998. She then moved to Minnesota where she currently resides with her husband and three children.

Dawn-Marie began her anesthesia career at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota where she was a part of the anesthesia staff as well as an Associate Professor at the Mayo School of Nurse Anesthesia. At this point, wanting to further her own education and continue to teach at the graduate level, she returned to school and began pursuit of a doctorate degree in Education and Leadership at St. Mary’s University in Minneapolis. She also taught the nurse anesthesia students at St. Mary’s school as a didactic professor.

Dawn-Marie is honored to work at SCHS and help facilitate learning with a new innovative learning model. Her goal has always been to encourage and uplift people to help them achieve their own goals. SCHS has taken a lid off of the traditional learning model and will afford individuals an opportunity to fulfill their educational goals as well as leading others to give back to their communities.
