      Biography

My professional career began as a pediatric nurse, courtesy of the Army. For those seven years, I was not aware that I was gaining skills that would assist me in moving to my second career as a nurse anesthetist. For the past twenty years, I have enjoyed the autonomy and professionalism of practice and teaching. After attaining my master’s degree, I worked with other nurses who desired the same expert training I had received in the clinical setting. I found teaching both inspirational and a means of improving my own skills in regional and general anesthesia. It was a joy to watch other men and women advance their training and skills.

I have accepted the position of Assistant Dean for Clinical Rotations for SCHS because I know the great need for more anesthetists. I enjoy teaching anesthesia, and believe that this new teaching and learning paradigm with a flexible program will meet the personal and professional demands of the committed adult student.

Residing now in Colorado, my boyhood home. I have taken over the Denver office where the School is founded and approved. I have a responsibility for the anesthesia program and I am focusing on clinical affiliations for our students. I work closely with my personal friend and the Assistant Dean / Program Director, Hampton Bisalski to assure a student friendly, quality anesthesia program that will graduate future leaders in the field.
